Food Inc.

It was an interesting, disgusting, yet intriguing documentary in which we learned the origins of our mass produced food products. I was suprised to hear who many uses for corn there were and that food is basically a science now. I've been hear crap for years about chemicals and bad stuff in our water, food, and air and everything in between. The way i see it is that's kinda how the world works now. It's overpopulated and people are looking for cheap profitable solutions to this growing world. How many people really would choose the more costly, harder less profitable direction? I don't blame them and i don't blame them for trying to hide it. I still think we have i right to know, but sometimes i think "ignorance is bliss"... It tastes good, so it's better not to overthink it. The average lifespan is 70 something, right? That seems pretty good, especially considering the past life expectancies. The do need to improve their health standards, but thats the governments job. I don't really want/need to know.

  1. Hello Brent,
I agree that we don’t want to do anything about what we eat because it cost less, and it is very practical to use. We need to come back to the traditional healthy way of eating by cooking more and avoiding processed and fast food.

  2. hey brent i also agree with you and elvia that we dont wanna do anything about the way we eat because it cost less and i also dont blame them for wanting to hide everything. but i also think that we should cook our own food so we know what we are eating and what actually goes into our food

  3. I agree that people are looking for cheap solutions to being healthy, but if it can possibly be just as easy to buy locally and spending a little more in order to better ourselves, it seems pretty worth it to me.

  4. I mean it's true about our food production becoming a science; however, we have to keep in mind that all of these altered foods that are being produced and consumed is part of an experiment where we don't know the outcomes yet. It's true, it may be cheaper to make everything out of corn, but the nutrition itself will always be poor. Who's to say that because today's life expectancy rate is higher it could not decrease because of us messing with our food? I guess that's something we'll find out in the future.

  5. I also understand how and why they hide how are food is made. It makes us wonder when we really do run out of food. The goverment really needs to keep this job much cleaner. I really try not to think about what we are all eatting! Although I have changed my food that I eat.
